[52Mn]Mn-DOTAGA-bevacizumab is a novel immuno-PET radiopharmaceutical designed for imaging vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression. It consists of the monoclonal antibody bevacizumab, which specifically binds to VEGF-A, conjugated to the bifunctional chelator DOTAGA and radiolabeled with the positron-emitting isotope manganese-52 (52Mn). Manganese-52 is an attractive isotope for immuno-PET due to its relatively long half-life (t1/2 = 5.59 days), which matches the biological half-life of intact antibodies like bevacizumab, allowing for delayed imaging and improved tumor-to-background ratios. Preclinical studies in cervix carcinoma mouse models have demonstrated its potential for non-invasive assessment of tumor angiogenesis and VEGF targeting.
